The Relationship Between Vestibular, Hearing, and Balance Outcomes in Individuals With Down Syndrome
This study examined vestibular dysfunction, hearing loss, and balance outcomes in 27 individuals with Down syndrome compared to 20 neurotypical controls using standardized clinical tests. Results showed 35.2% of ears with vestibular dysfunction in the DS group, variable hearing loss patterns, and significantly impaired balance and gait performance compared to controls.
