A randomized controlled study of 31 young adults with Down syndrome and 28 typically developing controls examined whether 4 weeks of Nintendo Wii balance game training could improve motor learning and functional performance. Participants with Down syndrome showed significant improvements in game performance and functional motor tests, demonstrating that VR-based training can be an effective motor learning tool for this population, though with greater individual variability than typically developing peers.
