Differential Effects of Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder Comorbidity in ADHD on Social Cognition and Empathy

This Turkish study compared social cognition and empathy in children with DMDD+ADHD, ADHD alone, and healthy controls using standardized tests including theory of mind and empathy scales. Children with comorbid DMDD+ADHD showed significantly lower empathy and social cognitive abilities, with strong correlations between affective reactivity, empathy, and theory of mind performance.
