Suicidality and Nonsuicidal Self-Injury in Females with ADHD: A Narrative Review

This narrative review examines the relationship between ADHD and increased suicide risk in females, highlighting how impulsivity as a core ADHD symptom contributes to suicidal behavior and self-harm. The review identifies combined-type ADHD, comorbid depression, substance abuse, and childhood maltreatment as key risk factors, emphasizing the need for active suicide prevention in this population.
