Validation of the Social Communication Questionnaire among Nigerian adolescents

This study validated the Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ) as an autism screening tool in a sample of 205 Nigerian adolescents using the ADOS-2 as the diagnostic standard. The SCQ demonstrated good psychometric properties with sensitivity of 0.81 and specificity of 0.88 at a cut-off score of 10, supporting its use for ASD identification in this population.
