Neurodevelopmental Assessment, EEG Findings and Epilepsy in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Retrospective Study
This retrospective study of 99 children with ASD examined associations between epilepsy and neurological findings including EEG, neuroimaging, and genetic testing, revealing epilepsy in 22.2% of cases. Abnormal EEG findings were the strongest predictor of epilepsy (OR=48.96), with significantly higher prevalence of EEG abnormalities in seizure-affected children (77.3%) compared to non-seizure cases (6.4%).
