Long-term follow-up of purified cannabidiol for treatment-resistant behavioral symptoms in children with autism spectrum disorder
A prospective observational study examined the long-term effectiveness and safety of purified cannabidiol (CBD) as an add-on therapy in 20 children with severe autism spectrum disorder and treatment-resistant behavioral symptoms, with 13 completing a mean follow-up of 27.6 months. Improvements in caregiver-identified symptoms and standardized behavioral measures observed initially were maintained or further improved during long-term follow-up, with adverse events monitored throughout.
